Sup handshakes use bluetooth, the safest technology to protect your privacy. Unlike gps location technology, bluetooth nevers knows where you are on the map and therefore cannot release your location to the cloud. With bluetooth, only the people you can see (who already know your location) can exchange digital handshakes with you. The missed connection feature uses gps to enable you to view other missed connections at a particular location, even if you go beyond bluetooth range.
